HOW TO GET STARTED

All you need is a .22 rifle and some ammunition. Contact your nearest silhouette club and give it a try! Smallbore (.22) is the most popular form of silhouette because it is inexpensive and family friendly. There are five classifications B,A,AA,AAA, and Master class. You are always competing against others at your skill and equipment level. Check out Steel Chickens or https://nassasilhouette.org (NASSA) for a map of all the silhouette ranges across the world.

WHAT IS SILHOUETTE SHOOTING?

Silhouette shooting is a shooting sport shot off-hand at metallic silhouettes of a chicken, pig, turkey and ram. The goal of the game is to knock down as many targets as you can out of 40. Each type of metallic silhouette is shot at different distances. They are shot in banks of five with a time limit of 2min and 45seconds. So you need to be focused and ready to make your shots after you hear the FIRE command.
